It is with pleasure that I invite you and your child to the 16+ Open Evening, which is being held on Thursday 3 October, you are welcome to drop in any time after 5.30pm. The aim is to give you the opportunity to find out about the Sixth Form as well as all the courses on offer.

If you use Facebook you can confirm attendance here:

2020 - 2021 is promising to be an exciting year for us here at The Long Eaton School. We are again celebrating our results, which in 2019 have equalled our best ever results of previous years. It is an excellent testament to the hard work of students and staff in our dynamic and nurturing environment. Many of our leavers from 2019 have left us to commence university studies with over 30% attending Russell Group universities from September 2019 (Warwick, Nottingham, York and Birmingham) and other students leaving us to take on Higher Apprenticeships with international corporations such as JCB and Europa.

Mrs Devine and I will be giving a short presentation 6.00pm and a repeat at 6.30pm that will provide details of life in the Sixth Form and Expectations of students. The Sixth Form Centre and its facilities will be open and on show, and of course all the specialist subject staff will be on hand to provide information and to answer any questions. There will also be some of our current students available to give valuable perspective from Years 12 and 13.

The school prospectus and application forms will be available on arrival.

If you would like further information regarding the subjects on offer, please contact Miss Shiels via email on

Yours Faithfully
M Caton
