Through a range of learning opportunities, most Year 6 children will have made several visits to TLES, before transferring to us in September.
Open Evening is held early in the Autumn Term: parents and Year 6 children visit us and meet our teaching staff.
After National Offer Day in March, we begin a comprehensive liaison programme. We aim to meet every child, in each primary school. By working closely with our primary colleagues, we try to ensure that the individual needs of students are identified, and met at an early stage.
Many children and parents are invited to TLES during the Summer Term to meet key staff, and to share any worries or concerns about the move to secondary school.
New Intake Day is held in July; this is a key opportunity for all Year 6 children to get a taste of secondary school life. Parents are invited in on the same evening, to meet a wide range of school staff.
For a number of years, we have run Summer Schools - usually in the first week of the holidays. Places are offered by invitation only, after discussions with primary teachers.
For further information about any aspect of Transition, please contact the school.
