Instrumental Lessons

Instrumental lessons are offered to all students at The Long Eaton School:

  • Lessons take place during the day.
  • Lessons are rotated to avoid continued disruption to any particular lesson.
  • Specialist tutors provide tuition.
  • Lessons can be given on a one-to-one or group basis, depending on the instrument.
  • No experience is necessary.
  • Students can continue lessons previously started at primary school or in another environment.

Students are encouraged to use their own instruments and can store them in the Music Department on the day of the lesson. A small number of instruments can be loaned from the school or the Derbyshire Music Partnership. An alternative is to hire or buy an instrument from one of the local music shops and the music department is happy to provide advice and support with this decision.

Financial Information:

Parents are provided with a contract detailing financial responsibilities. This contract forms an agreement between parents and the individual instrumental tutor. Lesson prices are detailed in the contract, however, tutors are happy to discuss individual requirements.

Derbyshire Music Services provide some subsidies and a school subsidy may be available in individual cases.
