Weekly Bulletin (10 December)

Dear Parent/Carer

Welcome to the Parent Bulletin.

Year 11 Mock Exams

Congratulations to our Year 11 students who are finishing off their mocks this week, they have approached them in a mature way and have been impeccable throughout. Results will be coming out in their lessons before our mock results day in January.

TLES School Show - Beauty and the Beast 12 and 13 December

We’re very excited to present this year’s school show, Beauty and the Beast. There are performances on Thursday and Friday this week, with the show starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are available for £7 and it promises to be spectacular!

Christmas Jumper Day - Friday 13 December

Friday is Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children. All students are encouraged to wear a Christmas Jumper on Friday to raise money for Save the Children with a £1 donation. This is not a non-uniform day for Years 7-10 (Year 11 please see notice below) and normal school trousers/skirt and shoes should be worn. No jeans or trainers are allowed. We look forward to seeing the jumpers!

Year 11 Health Roadshow - Friday 13 December

Things will be slightly different for Year 11 on Friday (although they can wear a Christmas jumper if they want!) Students will be off timetable for the day to have an entire day related to health and preparation for the future, with workshops provided by external agencies. Students can wear appropriate non-uniform with a £2 donation to help fund the day.

16+ Alumni Afternoon

We’re really looking forward to seeing the 54 former students who have agreed to return to our Sixth Form for the afternoon next Wednesday (18th). It will be great to see them again and hear how they’ve been getting on!

16+ Food Bank Christmas Appeal

Our 16+ Student Council are running our annual food bank appeal for Long Eaton and Sawley food bank. If you have any non-refrigerated items that you can spare, please send them down to the Sixth Form where they will be gratefully received.

PE Kit

We have noticed that some students are not bringing appropriate PE kit during the winter months. It is too cold to wear just a t-shirt and shorts, so they are encouraged to wear layers and also add navy or black leggings/joggers and navy or black sweatshirts.

Kind Regards

TLES
