Year 8 Parents Evening

Thank you to all those who attended the Year 8 Parents Evening last week. We hope that you found it a useful experience and it provided valuable feedback on how things are going. Please get in contact with your child’s form tutor, subject teacher(s) or Miss Bullard (KS3 Achievement Leader) if you have any questions or concerns.


Year 7 Parents Evening

Letters will be going to parents this week regarding the Subject Evening on Tuesday 12 March.


Waste Watchers

Year 8 will be taking part in an assembly on Thursday and following workshops around recycling and dealing with waste. The workshops, which are interactive and fun, promise to be an enjoyable morning for all students.


Year 8 Options Process

Please be aware that Year 8 are currently making decisions on their GCSE options for next year and beyond.

·         All Year 8 students will have an assembly on Wednesday advising them on options process followed by a lesson with their form tutors on the same theme.

·         Year 8 Options Evening takes place on Tuesday 26 February and should be a useful tool for students in finding out more details on subjects open to them next year.

·         Taster Day on 26 March also acts as a useful day in the calendar where students can try out four lessons to give them a better idea of what subjects may look like next year.


Year 10 Exams

Year 10 Exams being on 25 February (straight after half term). All students in Year 10 should be revising in preparation for these. If your child needs any support with this, please contact either their form tutor, subject teacher(s) or Mrs Woolley (KS4 Progress and Achievement Leader).


All students and teachers now have free access to Seneca - a revision and homework platform making studying more fun. Seneca is an interactive way to learn official course content. Their web app covers 150+ exam board specific courses condensing what students need to know for their exams. The software is able to identify gaps in learning. For instance, when you get a question wrong, the platform will repeat the topic in different formats and their smart algorithm has proven to make students remember topics 2x faster. Year 11 Breakfast Booster and Clinics

Attendance at Breakfast Booster (Tuesday/Thursday morning from 7.30) has been really well attended so far and students have been working incredibly hard during these slots. It’s also been great to see so many students attending clinics after school.

Year 11 Prom Passport

Congratulations to a number of students who have already gained the amount of credits needed to go to the prom- fantastic work!


Year 8 Languages in Careers Event

On Monday 25 February all of Year 8 will be off timetable either P2 or P3 for a Languages in Careers event prior to options.
