Weekly Bulletin (15 January)
Happy new year!
Welcome to your first bulletin of 2019, we hope that you had a great Christmas and are having a good start to the new year.
Last week was a busy one to kick off the new year!
Year 7 Maths trip to Bletchley Park
Last week, many students in Year 7 spent the day at Bletchley Park learning about coding and the Enigma machines from the Second World War.
Students in Years 8,9,10 & 11 started the year with the awards assemblies last week. It was fantastic to see so many students nominated and a massive well done to those students who picked up awards. The Year 7 assembly will be scheduled in the very near future.
Year 11 Leadership Challenge Award
Students who are part of the LCA took part in a great afternoon of climbing, caving and ‘airwalking’ on Wednesday. Well done to all involved.
It’s a busy time for Year 11 as we reach the home straight of their GCSEs.
Year 11 Prom Passport
As with Year 11 last year, Year 11 will be attempting to gain credits through revision, progress checks and other means. Each student has received their passports and in assembly yesterday were explained how the passport works. A letter detailing this further, amongst other key information, will be going to all Year 11 parents in the coming days.
Year 11 Clinics and Opportunities to revise
One way in achieving prom credits is through clinics. The poster below shows when students can attend clinics.
We also have the Breakfast Booster starting in IT7F on a Tuesday and a Thursday where students can come in before school from 7.30 to do some revision, as well as getting some breakfast from 8am in the Sixth Form café.
Mock Results Day
Wednesday sees the return of our Year 11 Mock Results Day. All students will receive their mock results in the hall and will also have a conversation with a senior member of staff to discuss the support and guidance required for the final few months.
Year 11 Parents Evening
A reminder that this will take place on Tuesday 29th January. Appointments can be made online using the usual procedure. This is detailed in the letter which has already gone out to students.
Students in Year 11 who have applied to the Sixth Form will have an interview next Wednesday during period 4. If students haven’t applied, there is still time to do so.
