Weekly Bulletin (17 December)

Dear Parent/Carer

Seasons greetings! Here is your final bulletin for 2019!

We hope that you have a fantastic Christmas and a happy new year!

It’s been a very busy last couple of weeks and promises to be a busy last few days too!

Christmas Holidays

We break up at 2pm on Friday this week, with students being dismissed at this time. The Shardlow bus will be collecting students at 2pm.

Carols in the Community

Staff and students are out and about today entertaining shoppers at Long Eaton Tesco and Asda, along with some residential homes with a variety of Christmas classics.

Year 7-10 Progress Checks

Progress checks will be coming out this week.

Christmas Jumper Day 13 December

Thank you to all students (and staff!) who took part in Christmas Jumper Day, it was great to see such an array of festive jumpers!

School Show - Beauty and the Beast

Congratulations to all students who took part in our school show last week. It was a fantastic event and once again we were all so proud of our performers. Thank you for the staff and 16+ students who help produce the show too!

Year 11 Health Roadshow

Our Health Roadshow was a great success last week. We hope that students got a lot out of it and a huge thanks goes to Miss Kennedy for organising the event.

16+ Food Bank Christmas Appeal

Our 16+ Student Council are running our annual food bank appeal for Long Eaton and Sawley food bank. If you have any non-refrigerated items that you can spare, please send them down to the Sixth Form where they will be gratefully received.

School Uniform

Please can we remind all parents and students that trainers are not part of our uniform. Students need to wear black school shoes.

PE Kit

We have noticed that some students are not bringing appropriate PE kit during the winter months. It is too cold to wear just a t-shirt and shorts, so they are encouraged to wear layers and also add navy or black leggings/joggers and navy or black sweatshirts.

We wish all students and parents a safe and enjoyable Christmas
