Weekly Bulletin (21 March)
Welcome to your weekly bulletin. This week there’s a real exam focus with a number of year groups having exams in the near future.
Year 11 Exams and Pre-Exam Preparation Evening
Many in Year 11 are in the full swing of revision and it is excellent to see. Included in this is the 500+ hours completed in Mr Caton’s Breakfast Booster which takes place from 7.30am on a Tuesday and Thursday morning. Well done to all of those regular attendees who have really worked hard in a great atmosphere.
To support parents and students alike, we are holding a Pre-Exam Preparation Evening next Thursday (letters have gone out). There are two slots, 5-5.45 and 5.45-6.30pm. During these time slots, there will be a marketplace where various pieces of information, advance and guidance will be available to help students achieve the best grades possible in the summer.
In this vein, we also have our Wellbeing Week commencing on 1 April. During this week, students will be equipped with strategies and advice to help them through the exam period.
Year 8 Exams - W/C 1 April
All students in Year 8 were issued with an exam timetable today, as well as a booklet featuring tips on revision. Year 8 also had a lesson in Life Skills this week on revision and created a revision timetable to help organise their time. In assembly, Mr Worn took students through a useful method of how to use flashcards effectively. There is a video on this method which may be useful to watch. As with Year 8, Year 9 have also had an assembly which focused on revision for their upcoming exams. The same video was used and the link is here https://youtu.be/C20EvKtdJwQ

Students in Year 10 should be getting their exam results back in lessons and should also be going through their papers to identify areas for improvement. The Year 10 Parents Evening takes place on 9 April and will be an ideal opportunity to discuss student progress.
