Weekly Bulletin (3 October)

Welcome to your latest bulletin, here are some important updates.

16+ Open Evening- 3 October- from 5.30pm

All Year 11 students are warmly invited to our 16+ Open Evening tonight. All subject areas will be on hand to discuss their courses and there will be talks about the Sixth Form at 6pm and 6.30pm.

Careers Fair/KS4 Tutor Evening and Information Evening- 22 October

This year we are combining two events to hold the Careers Fair & KS4 Tutor Evening and the KS4 Information Evening on the same date. Further information will be coming out via a letter this week, but it would be great to see as many parents and students on this important night.

RSE Parent Consultation

We are currently reviewing our relationships and sex education lessons as part of our Life Skills programme. We are holding a parent consultation on this topic tonight at 6.30pm in L5F. All are welcome to share their views on this topic.

Rewards Early Lunch

It was brilliant to celebrate a great first few weeks with our top 10 ‘achievement pointers’ from each year last week. Over 50 students joined us in the dining hall and it was a great atmosphere!

Attendance Update

The school is required by law to follow up on all absences. Please may we remind parents that any absences from school need to be explained. We request that you respond to the absence text you receive from the school.

School Uniform

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you of the school policy regarding piercings. It states, " one pair of small ear studs (one in each ear). Any other form of body piercing is strictly forbidden.” Following October half term this policy will be strictly adhered to. Any student who does not cooperate with the rules outlined in our School Dress Code will receive appropriate sanctions. (Please see the Student Planner page 4 for further details regarding our School Dress Code).

We would also like to remind you of the school policy regarding hoodies. It states that hoodies are banned, including on the journey to and from school. As the weather becomes colder and wetter, students will be more comfortable in a water proof coat which doesn't hold the water. We would like to thank you for your support in this matter.

Uniformality have informed us they are offering a 10% discount when ordering uniform online - their website is www.uniformality.co.uk

Safeguarding Update

Please avoid driving into our car park in the morning to drop off students if you do not have an appointment with a member of staff. We understand that when it’s wet it’s very tempting to drop students off, but it causes additional hazards for our students who cycle to school and cars have also blocked the bus bay which is needed for the school bus. Thank you for your anticipated support.

Kind Regards

TLES
