At The Long Eaton School, we all want to ensure that you are successful in whatever it is that you choose to do. Hopefully, through our Careers Curriculum, you will develop some ideas about your future and what career you would like.
However, if you are unsure about your future career, a good starting point is to identify your skills and interests.
Spend time exploring and researching the wide variety of careers out there using Unifrog, once you’ve narrowed it down this gives you something to aim for when you leave The Long Eaton School.
As you can see on the diagram above, there are some key transition points in your school journey where you must decide what happens next. Our Careers Curriculum will help you prepare for these points however, it is also worth considering these yourself, speaking to a trusted adult in school and speaking to your family before making these decisions.
You must stay in some form of education until you are 18, there are a variety of options available to you after GCSEs including A Levels, Apprenticeships, Traineeships, T Levels and Vocational Qualifications. You will decide which pathway to follow, it must be suitable to your ability and interests but also be a suitable pathway to your eventual career goal.
